The operation mode of Central-branch System of University Library-- Taking Xiamen University as an example

At present, the Law library of domestic universities exist two situationsbeing attached to central library or Law School. Generally speakingthe Law School branch library has a close relationship with Law School. Although it has a high-speed Service Responsethe ability of resource integration is poor and there exists a certain number of redundant construction. The former is just the opposite. There are four differences between the twosuch asfund sourcespersonnel managementresources constructionwork content and so on. According to the analysisno matter what kind of library it isit should take appropriate ways to avoid weaknesses to be optimization.

Xiamen University (XMU) Law Library, been subject to Law School before 1998, has been one of subject branch libraries of XMU Library. In the practical work of XMU Law Library, XMU Library exploits the advantages of fundsdocument acquisitiontechnical assistanceresource development and librarian improvement to provide back-office support for it, while it is located in School of Law so as to provides front-end services ,namely, to concentrate on subject service on the basis of reading circulation adequately. At present, the subject service, equipped with subject librarians majoring in law, has been core business of XMU Law Library. Its detailed work is as follows: contacting teachers and studentsembedding teachingresource evaluationacademic salonthe construction of library and community of scholars and so on. Especiallythe subject service based on “WeChat + Subject Homepage”, make the relevant aspects work effectively, enhance the interaction between resources, librarians and users, improve work efficiency, and achieved good results.

Considering the practical experience, the branch library system still has some ideas worth discussing. For example, giving the partial authority of the books acquisition to the subject librarian of branch library, can improve the response speed of service; Master Tutor’ students can be absorbed as part-time librarians, it helps to expand the service object, and to improve service level.
